The Bay of Somme is the
largest estuary of the north of France with nearly 7200 ha. The
very broad one opening towards the English Channel, of more than
5 kilometers, north in the south, offers, according to the tides
and seasons, of the exceptional landscapes where sky, ground
and sea come to merge in subtle colours and lights.
Hundreds of species of birds come to be posed there during their
migrations, for a few hours or one season; others live all the
year there, like Tadornes de Belon, because they find one there
food abundant and varied on the strike, with the accesses of
the marsh and water levels, in the dunes or salt meadow lambs.
Space walks unceasingly renewed,
the bay of Somme includes a herbaceous part of approximately
1500 ha and a sablovaseuse zone of which 3000 ha are in natural
reserve. The site is a place of observation extraordinary where
you will be able to discover the flora and the birds in all their
diversity, but also the colony of seals which settled there.
